This is probably the biggest news of the month. UTTV’s member structure has changed in order to be more productive and provide members with more fun stuff to do. Now we have Teams, about five of them to be exact: Marketing, Design, Production, Admin, Social. All members are required to choose three positions within a team they would like to have (in order of preference). Once you tell us the positions you want, we’ll try our hardest to get you two of them. No matter what position you get, you can always use us for references for future jobs (remember that!) and we’re glad to write reference letters for those who do a good job!
Choose three positions from below… Most job titles are self explanatory, though the ones I felt weren’t clear are given a small explanation. Some things are strangely titled such as “gatherer of new contacts”; just remember your job title can change to something that sounds cool like “outreach manager” ;), always for something that looks fantastic on a resume/CV. (Sorry about the bad formatting below, I can’t seem to fix it)
Marketing
Passive Marketer: Promoting UTTV in general via posters or online ads that are rather static and just by exposure people will learn about the UTTV name.
Coordinator: One who schedules all of the team’s things including meetings or telling actors to be at places at certain times. Also scheduling goals and seeing to it that others are on track.
Promotional Marketer: Promoting a one-time thing like an event, or a specific episode/show.
Sponsorship Gatherer: Involves contacting outside and inside sources. Such as GIF and Royal Bank.
Fundraising Marketer: In charge of thinking of cool ways to do fundraisers, and then implementing them with people. Fun!
Merchandising: Split up into things below.
- Buyer: In charge of looking for deals, buying things.

- Sell: In charge of selling it.
Admin
Blog: Frequent blogging about any updates. Will receive things to blog about from other Teams also. Coordinator: One who schedules all of the team’s things including meetings or telling actors to be at places at certain times. Also scheduling goals and seeing to it that others are on track.
Buying Things: Looking for deals of the things need to be bought, asked for by Team leaders, and buying them.
Activity Tracker: Someone keeps track of inactive members, and assigns them to interesting things
Website Building: Exactly how it sounds. Maintaining the website as well.
New Members Responder: Respond to email requests of people wanting to be new members and telling them what to do. Also figuring out what fits best for them at UTTV.
Treasurer: Handling receipts and making sure things add up.
Respond to new emails: Responding and forwarding it to the correct people.
Newsletter: Our weekly newsletter that goes out to members.
Manual: Maintains new tutorial and updates the UTTV Manual.
Social
Coordinator: One who schedules all of the team’s things including meetings or telling people to be at places at certain times. Also scheduling goals and seeing to it that others are on track. Make sure dates are set correctly for events and that every one knows.
Gatherer of new contacts: Finding new opportunities to network, and emailing them, phoning them, etc. Telling them about UTTV.
Going to Events (Required, like UTSU stuff)

Maintain Relationships, with updates: Some people need to be contacted on a weekly basis to let them know what we’re doing. They tend to lose interest if we don’t talk to them personally. Keeps a list of these important people and contacts to them.
Deisgn
Posters: Designs posters for things.
Coordinator: One who schedules all of the team’s things including meetings or telling actors to be at places at certain times. Also scheduling goals and seeing to it that others are on track.
Logos and Show Icons: Designs these things and adds effects.
After Effects Specialist: Makes cool videos effects using Adobe AE.
Flourishes (Lower Thirds, etc.): Designs these as requested.
Production
Coordinator: One who schedules all of the team’s things including meetings or telling actors to be at places at certain times. Also scheduling goals and seeing to it that others are on track.
Casting: Keeps a record of all actors and notes which ones may be good for certain parts. Makes casting sessions and attends them all.
Room booker: One who books rooms as requested by Team leaders. Also keeps a lookout and record of all good locations around. UTTV News:

Spotlight: This is a show about cool hidden stuff at UofT like the Tax Clinic or the Psych Services. Needs someone who knows UofT in and out and might be an on-screen personality as well.

Heist Show: A new “heist” show, that we might do. Just looking for writers currently.

Sports Recap
- Narrator: May have on-screen position, and this person must know and love UofT sports. Varsity rocks!
Editor: One who edits the shows or a specific segment of a show.
Uploader: Tasks involve splitting of files. Uploading to different places, YouTube Vimeo and adding Info, ID tags etc. Some knowledge of editing required.
Camera Operators: Very crucial. People who just love to film things.
That’s it! Now note that there are frequent team meetings and members of that team are required to show up, about once every 1.5 weeks and on St. George Campus (most likely Robarts). They will be scheduled with the coordinator or the group to fit around your schedule. Also, you’re allowed to choose positions in different teams if you want. Lastly, if you feel you want to be something up there but don’t have any experience, it’s fine. We expect zero experience anyway, we’ll teach you from the ground up (though prior expertise always helps). As long as you’re enthusiastic, that’s the only requirement.
